Dicapac WPS10

Postby manarak » 11 May 2011, 17:37 •  [Post 1]

got my Dicapac WPS10 delivered today.
tested it right away - it is watertight all right :-)

As the pix suggest, yes, it is quite big.
The Tamron lens fits inside, but cannot extend, so I think I will use it with the 30mm Sigma, the 50mm Canon or the Tokina

can't wait until next Songkran to put it to use!
the main challenge will be to keep a dry towel somewhere to wipe the front glass dry from time to time

I think I will try to strap it to the bike to make a vid of the traffic using the tokina wideangle.

Nice but to be 100% honest, I'd rather just buy the same camera FF has for that. I kind of don't want to risk some clown being drunk and driving their motorcycle into my lens! ;)

BTW what was its cost? DSLR underwater maybe good for diving in a cool area!

cost is about 80 USD.
a pretty good deal for a poor man's waterproof DSLR case!
they say it's waterproof until a depth of 5 meters - in the diving forums they say it can go to 20 meters without a problem.

what is certain is that it is totally perfect for Songkran.

I kind of don't want to risk some clown being drunk and driving their motorcycle into my lens!

mostly, trouble of this kind will be your own fault in the LOS.
I've been driving there long enough to feel confident enough to take the cam with me (which I do anyway most of the time, it is just in my shoulder strapped bag instead).
